Roma have officially announced that Francesco Totti has signed a new contract with the Serie A club.
The legendary captain??�s current deal was due to expire at the end of the month, and for a time it appeared he would be leaving the Giallorossi.
However, following a meeting in Rome today with club President James Pallotta, It was announced that Er Pupone would play on for another season before taking up a six-year deal as technical director at the club.

???The Giallorossi captain, who turns 40 on September 27, signed a contract which will tie him to the club for the 25th season of his career.???
Roma president James Pallotta said: "It's quite fitting that on the anniversary of the day AS Roma was founded [June 7, 1927], Francesco Totti has signed a new playing contract.
"No one has played more games or scored more goals for this football club than Francesco Totti and we're delighted that he will continue for one more season.
"He's earned this contract and now we want Francesco's final season on the pitch to be the start of a new era of success for AS Roma."
Speaking to the club's official website about the deal, the 2006 World Cup-winner said: "I really wanted this contract, which is the realisation of my dream," adding "I always hoped to start and end my career in one shirt - Roma's.
"After speaking with the President, I'm even more convinced that we can reach big objectives."
"I hope to win my second Scudetto with Roma," he said, adding "We believe.
"Obviously at the start of the season people draw up their predictions and it all looks very simple. We're aiming as high as possible, though we know that Juventus are better than everyone else.
"That said, when I spoke to the president today he guaranteed that he will build a great Roma side and I said I believed I had a chance of winning a second Scudetto."
Totti has made 758 appearances for the Lupi, scoring 304 goals since making his debut against Foggia on September 4, 1994.
