Jurgen Klopp hints Mohamed Salah likely to miss World Cup

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes Mo Salah is likely to miss the World Cup after leaving the Champions League final injured in the first half.

Salah fell awkwardly on his shoulder after being dragged down by Sergio Ramos.

The Egyptian was unable to continue and Klopp said afterwards he fears that it is either the collarbone or shoulder, which could be either dislocated or broken.

A serious injury could lead to Salah missing the World Cup.

Klopp said that the player would probably be unable to take part in the tournament, and said that ???It??s a serious injury, a really serious injury.

"He is in the hospital for an X-ray. It??s either the collarbone or the shoulder itself. It doesn??t look good, that??s it.???

The Egyptian FA tweeted on Saturday evening to say that following a talk with the Liverpool medical staff they were optimistic over the winger.

Salah walked through the mixed zone with his arm in a sling.

The Liverpool manager also praised Real Madrid, while criticising the tackle that saw Salah injured:

"The plan is only to play to win, nothing else, not a lot to say. We started well and played exactly like we wanted to.

"Congratulations to Real Madrid. Nobody should forget they won the CL tonight.

"The situation with Sergio Ramos [and Mohamed Salah] looked really bad and it was a shock for the team, we lost the positive momentum and they immediately came up.

"The [Salah] injury was a big moment. I know you sound like a bad loser, but it was a harsh challenge - a bit like wrestling. The shock of the boys was obvious. We dropped too deep."

"We dropped deep and we could not get to Luka Modric or Toni Kroos. We had to run and work, we did that and half-time came. What can I say about the goals? We scored one, they scored three."
