Early penalty gives Krasnodar victory over Borussia Dortmund


Borussia Dortmund conceded a penalty in the first minute and ceded top spot in their Europa League group to opponents Krasnodar with a 1-0 defeat on Thursday.

Mats Hummels was immediately whistled for holding back Krasnodar's Mauricio Pereyra, who tumbled into the penalty area to draw the foul.

Pavel Mamaev converted from the spot for the only goal of the game.

The Russian side moved ahead of Dortmund on head-to-head with both teams level atop Group C on 10 points and assured spots in the knockout stage.
