Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas is to retire from football, according to reports in Spain and Portugal.
The former Real Madrid goalkeeper suffered a heart attack two weeks ago and he had been unsure over his future as he began his recovery.
He was taken to hospital on May 1 during a club training session in Porto.
ABC.es reports that he will be offered a role in the Porto technical team in order to keep him at the club.
Casillas won the World Cup, European Championships, Champions League, La Liga, and the Portuguese Primeira Liga, and made 885 appearances in club competitions. He also made 167 appearances for the Spanish national side.
