PSG will prove too strong for Real

Henrik Larsson on the Champions League

Betfair Ambassador Henrik Larsson casts his eye over the Champions League draw and gives his verdict on who will progress...

The difference in mentality of playing in the group round and the following rounds is huge. In the group stages you can, at times, afford a draw or even a defeat and survive.

This all goes away when the next round takes place and the intensity level goes up a level. It's now a matter of surviving to the second game with, preferably, a strong result behind you. If you start at home a 0-0 is always better than a 1-1 and if you start away, you have a solid chance of advancing if you manage to get a goal or two.

Juventus vs Tottenham
My feeling is this match will be more even than people realise. Juventus are always dangerous as they advance from the group stage while Tottenham have strong form at the moment. This is one of the tougher games to call, in my mind.

Basel v Man City
Manchester City are obviously overwhelming favourites considering their strong form. They'll be a tough nut for Basel to crack.

Porto v Liverpool
One of the more even fixtures in the round of 16. Both teams have been strong in the tournament historically and are incredibly well stocked offensively.

Sevilla v Man Utd
Without using my heart all too much, I believe this match up is pretty open. Sevilla are strong at home but if Man Utd can score a goal away, they surely have the advantage. But this is a tricky one.

Real Madrid v PSG
Two of the favourites in the tournament, and it will be sad when one of them has to exit. Real Madrid have been strong up until this point but I believe PSG will steal this one and advance.

Shakhtar Donetsk v Roma
Roma takes this one. Shakhtar's journey ends here, which is a shame considering they had a strong end to the group stages.

Chelsea v Barcelona
I'm going with heart as well as head here and picking Barcelona. They are simply too strong and will have too much going forward for Chelsea to cope with.

Bayern Munich v Besiktas
Bayern Munich are heavy favourites to win this one. Besiktas have had a fine journey so far but it ends here.
