Late own goal gives PSG third straight Coupe de France

Issa Cissokho's stoppage-time own goal saw Paris Saint-Germain beat Angers 1-0 to win the Coupe de France.

It meant PSG secured a trophy double after they added their record 11th Coupe de France title to last month's French League Cup success.

Their struggle in overcoming minnows Angers, though, was representative of a disappointing season.

Unai Emery's side lost their Ligue 1 title to Monaco, who finished eight points clear at the top of the table, and failed to progress past the last 16 of the Champions League and two domestic cups were only small consolation.

Despite dominating at the Stade de France it required an own goal from Cissokho in the first of two minutes of added time to decide the final 1-0.

Angers, who finished 12th in Ligue 1, 41 points behind their opponents, were playing in their first French Cup final in 60 years and had taken one point from their four meetings with PSG since their promotion to the top flight in 2015.

As rank outsiders it was no surprise to see them under pressure from the off but PSG rarely threatened with Angel Di Maria, Blaise Matuidi and Edinson Cavani (twice) having chances in the opening 30 minutes.

However, it was Angers' Nicolas Pepe who came closest to opening the scoring with a 27th-minute shot against a post with Romain Thomas forcing a save out of Alphonse Areola.

In the second half Matuidi, Marquinhos, Di Maria, Cavani and Maxwell all had chances but just when it seemed as if the match was heading for extra time, PSG won a corner and Cissokho put through his own net under pressure from Matuidi.
