Cristiano Ronaldo has said he understands the importance of Real Madrid winning a 10th European Cup and is confident it will be a "beautiful night".

All roads lead to Estadio da Luz in Lisbon on Saturday for a highly-anticipated showdown between Carlo Ancelotti's men and the newly-crowned La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.

For Los Blancos, achieving La Decima has become a club obsession and Ronaldo, a Champions League winner with Manchester United in 2008, says he is ready for a special return to his homeland Portugal and is confident of victory against their capital rivals.

The 29-year-old said: "Obviously this is the title that we all want, especially Real Madrid because it will be our 10th Champions League."

The Ballon d'Or winner added: "I signed for Real Madrid to win titles, especially this one because it's a great title that I had the opportunity to win with Manchester United and that was one of the most incredible experiences I've had until now.

"So I want to feel that again and I hope that it's a beautiful night and that Real Madrid wins."

Ancelotti has confirmed Ronaldo has recovered from a muscle injury and he expects the former Old Trafford favourite to face Diego Simeone's men.

"I think the two (Ronaldo and winger Gareth Bale) are going to play," said the veteran Italian coach.

Real Madrid are currently priced 2.00 in the 90 minutes market and the draw is available to back at 3.50. Atletico Madrid are quoted 4.20.
