Bayern rested ahead of United visit

Bayern Munich will recall all their big guns for Wednesday night's do-or-die Champions League showdown with Manchester United at the Allianz Arena.

Wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, along with defender turned midfielder Philipp Lahm, were all rested for the shock 1-0 weekend defeat to minnows Augsburg.

That brought an end to Bayern's incredible 53-game unbeaten record in the Bundesliga, leaving some of their fans fearing the team is now coasting after recently bagging the domestic title.

Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, however, has already promised there will be a 'ten-fold improvement' against the Red Devils.

United certainly showed they could ruffle the feathers of the current European champions with a spirited 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last week.

But Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer insisted: "It is all about Wednesday and the game against Manchester - nothing else matters.

"We took Augsburg seriously, but the main thing for us was that no-one is injured and we are now focused accordingly."

Only Neuer, midfielder Toni Kroos and striker Mario Mandzukic are expected to keep their places in the starting line-up from the weekend team.

Bayern are 1.25 to defeat United in the Allianz Arena on Wednesday and are 1.11 to reach the semi-finals, with the German giants 2.62 to become the first club to successfully retain the title in the Champions League era.
